About our founder,
Mara Gurevitz
Born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Mara Gurevitz was a theatre major and then transitioned her way into the financial arena in 1976, where she has remained for the past 40 years. After spending several years in international banking, Mara moved into corporate operations specializing in financial accounting.
In 1990, now living in Florida, Mara opened her own accounting, bookkeeping & tax service which she has operated for the past 26 years, incorporating in 2006 as Edge Resources, Inc. Concurrently she served for 10 years as both GM and South East Marketing Director for two international film production payroll services advising her clients on payroll tax laws and union contracts as well as having complete responsibility for Florida operations. Until May of this year, Mara spent 4 years working for a temporary staffing agency, beginning as a part-time accountant and working her way up to Controller. She left to pursue her own business on a full-time basis.
Our client list includes CPA firms, tax preparation services, films and a wide variety of small businesses. Mara currently serves as President of the networking organization Keep It Local Oldsmar chapter. In her free time she sings in her church choir and is an avid tennis fan.
